The New Jersey Department of Education’s Professional Development Plan (PDP) requires all active New Jersey public school teachers to complete 100 hours of professional development credit over the course of 5 years. Specific professional development opportunities vary by school and by district.

Benefits & Retirement

The New Jersey Teachers’ Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF) provides full benefits to New Jersey public schools teachers who are at least 60 or 62 years old, though early retirement options are also available.
