Salary and Incentives In 2007, Arizona ranked 31st in the nation for teacher pay with an average salary of $44,700. Compensation for Arizona teaching jobs has continued to rise, with the average annual base salary for teachers in 2009 at $48,705, with an annual salary range of $37,192 – $64,671.  Arizona follows a salary schedule for teachers that increases pay according to years of teaching experience, and college degree level.
